Backend Engineer II

Location: Seattle, WA 98101 (Hybrid) / 4 days onsite (Mon - Thur)

Duration: 12-month contract (with possible extension)

Start Date: Targeting Jan 2025

Pay Rate: $57.75/hr - $63.38/hr on W2

Shift timing: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Pacific Time)

• Round 1: Behavioral Interview (1 hour)

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java (8+) and Spring Boot
• Develop scalable, cloud-native microservices following software engineering best practices
• Perform data modeling, storage, and performance optimization using Amazon Aurora (Postgre
  
  SQL) and DynamoDB
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features
• Build and maintain integrations with internal and external systems
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, deployments, and incident response activities
• Ensure performance, security, reliability, and availability of backend services in production environments

• 5–10 years of backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot
• Strong hands‑on experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture

• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, ECS, or EKS
• Familiarity with event‑driven architecture and messaging tools like Kafka or SQS
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, API security, and OAuth2
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworks
• Monitoring and logging experience with Cloud Watch and/or ELK Stack

• B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science / Information Technology
• Exposure to React, .NET WPF, or React Native is a plus
