Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) has been working toward social justice and offering a broad array of behavioral health programs, human services and civic engagement activities for Asians, Pacific Islanders, and other underserved communities in King County and beyond.

This part‑time Psychiatrist will provide skilled psychiatric care and ensure continuity of care as part of the Medical Services Team.
Schedule:
Mon‑Fri, no weekend work.
- Pay range $148,300 to $161,600 annually, with potential increases based on experience.
- ACRS pays license, board certification, and DEA renewal fees.
- 32 hours paid continuing education with $800 in training funds annually.
- ACRS pays 100% for employee‑only HMO/Virtual Plus medical benefits; additional options are covered 75‑85%.

- Perform direct psychiatric functions: assess and diagnose new consumers; prescribe psychiatric medications; monitor medication; consult with other ACRS medical staff and case managers regarding client care; coordinate referrals to other providers; perform or assist in crisis intervention.
- Provide in‑service education and consultation to ACRS staff, as requested.
- Meet with the Medical Director and other clinical staff as scheduled.
- Participate in staff meetings and consultations as schedule permits.
- Perform consultations to nursing homes.
- Education and Experience:
- Valid state licensure as MD or DO with board‑certified psychiatric credentials and prescribing privileges.
- Three (3) years experience in psychiatric medicine, including at least one (1) year in community mental health (preferred).
- Cultural Humility: Ability to provide effective and respectful service to employees, visitors, and clients of diverse cultural beliefs and practices.
- Knowledge and
Skills:- Knowledge of major psychiatric disorders (including PTSD and somatization); psychotropic medications (indications, contraindications, dosages, side‑effect management); and county mental health systems (preferred).
- Assessment skills for prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medication and basic physical assessment for referral.
- Crisis intervention skills, group facilitation, and working with interpreters and bilingual/bicultural case managers.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Technical
Skills:- Competency navigating electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EPIC and completing documentation efficiently.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and related software for word processing, calendaring, e‑mail, and spreadsheets.

- Must have reliable transportation; personal or agency vehicle must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under ACRS auto policy.
