Position: Evening Program Assistant in Emergency Housing Program

Evening Program Assistant – Emergency Housing Program

Join Compass Housing Alliance as an Evening Program Assistant in our Emergency Housing Program. This role involves observing, recording, and responding to the comings and goings of guests, residents, participants, and staff while maintaining a safe, comfortable environment and addressing issues as appropriate. You will be part of the program services team, collaborating to provide trauma‑informed assistance.

Pioneer Square Neighborhood, Seattle, WA

Reports To

Shift Supervisor and Program Coordinator

Schedule

Sunday‑Thursday, 12 am‑8 am; staff meetings every other Thursday 1 pm‑2 pm. Meal period paid 30 minutes.

Compensation

Salary: $26.25 per hour (Step
1), plus a $1.75 overnight shift differential. Step 2: 2.5% increase after a consecutive year of employment.

Qualifications
  • Maintain confidentiality, tactfulness, and respect for participants from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of best practices in de‑escalation, crisis intervention, and stabilization.
  • Knowledge of local resources for individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
  • Ability to manage difficult interpersonal situations and seek support from a manager when needed.
  • Work in a fast‑paced, interruption‑heavy environment with frequent crisis situations.
  • Set and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Follow agency policies and procedures to maintain safety and security.
