Security Supervisor - Events and Concerts - Cannonball Arts LLC, Seattle, WA, United States
Day-of-Show & Event Responsibilities- Meet with the Event Manager to review event plans, schedules, security priorities, and risk considerations
- Create and execute DOT maps and security deployment plans
- Conduct pre-show venue walk-throughs to identify safety concerns, choke points, and crowd-flow issues
- Lead pre-show security briefings, ensuring clarity around posts, protocols, guest expectations, and escalation paths
- Coordinate with Front of House, Production, and Operations teams on entry procedures, bag policies, re-entry rules, and crowd management strategy
- Oversee ingress, egress, and line management to maintain safe guest flow and positive arrival experience
- Maintain an active on-the-floor presence during events, working posts as needed
- Direct staff rotations, breaks, and coverage throughout events
- Monitor crowd density, energy levels, and behavior, adjusting deployment in real time
- Respond to incidents and emergencies in coordination with the Event Manager, Production Manager, and Emergency Response Team
- Act as point of contact for artist security needs, VIP movement, and restricted-access areas when applicable
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, medical personnel, or emergency responders as needed
- Lead post-show security operations, including safe guest exit and venue clearing
- Complete timely post-event security reports, including incident documentation, staffing notes, guest or staff issues, use‑of‑force or medical responses (if applicable), and recommendations for future improvements
- Participate in post-event debriefs with the Event Manager and General Manager as needed
- Assist the General Manager in developing and maintaining security policies and procedures
- Maintain strong working knowledge of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team
- Hire, train, and build a professional in‑house security team
- Create and manage security schedules for events and daily operations
- Coordinate with external security staffing vendors as needed
- Ensure all security staff meet training, certification, and compliance requirements
- Comfortable working in a hybrid role with some in‑office administrative time
- Proficient with email and professional communication
- Experience using scheduling or workforce management software
- Comfortable working in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, shared calendars)
- Organized, responsive, and able to manage schedules and documentation efficiently
- MAST certified or willing to obtain certification
- Trained in Naloxone (Narcan) administration or willing to complete training
- Commitment to ongoing training in safety, de‑escalation, and emergency response
- 3+ years of experience in nightlife, venue, or crowd‑based security
- Experience supervising teams and making real‑time decisions in fast‑paced environments
- Training or certification in de‑escalation and conflict resolution preferred
- Prior experience in a concert venue or nightclub environment
- Experience working live music and EDM events is a plus
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to be certified
- Experience collaborating with law enforcement or city safety departments
- Knowledge of harm‑reduction and inclusive security practices
- Calm, confident, and professional demeanor under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with downtown Seattle nightlife and safety landscape is a plus
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must have or be willing to obtain required state security certifications
- 48 events per month during off‑peak seasons
- 8+ events per month during peak seasons (Spring/Fall)
- Variable weekly hours based on event calendar
- Nights, weekends, and holidays required during event weeks
- Hybrid role: on‑site event work + limited in‑office administrative time
