Position: Event Security - Variable Hours

Location: Cannonball Arts + LEVEL1, Seattle, WA

Pay Rate: $22–$25/hour DOE

Schedule: Variable Hours / On-Call (average 2–4 shifts per month)

Position Overview

Event Security plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and positive experience of all guests, artists, and staff during concerts and events at Cannonball Arts and LEVEL
1.

This position requires strong judgment, professionalism, and clear communication in a fast-paced nightlife environment. Ideal candidates are experienced in de-escalation, understand hospitality-forward security practices, and thrive in dynamic settings where safety and guest experience go hand in hand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a visible, professional, and welcoming security presence during events.
  • Conduct , bag checks, and entry management in compliance with venue policies and Washington State regulations.
  • Monitor guest behavior throughout the venue and proactively identify potential safety concerns.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts calmly and effectively.
  • Enforce venue policies consistently and fairly.
  • Support Guest Services and Bar teams in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
  • Assist with crowd management, perimeter security, and load-in/load-out as needed.
  • Respond appropriately to medical incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations, including evacuations.
  • Complete accurate and timely incident reports.
  • Serve as part of the venue’s Emergency Response Team and remain knowledgeable about the Emergency Action Plan and procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in live music, event, nightclub, or venue security
  • Experience conducting s
  • Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional under pressure
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Availability for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of harm-reduction and inclusive security practices
  • Formal training in de-escalation and conflict resolution
  • Experience with in the electronic music or nightlife scene
  • Familiarity with downtown Seattle and comfort working in urban nightlife environments
  • Current MAST Permit (or willingness to obtain prior to first shift)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
