Position Summary

The TAS is a critical role in our unique customer model. The primary duty is to drive demand for BMS medicines within the portfolio for the appropriate patients, engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) through a differentiated customer experience (Cx) based on deeper scientific dialogue and consistent with label. The TAS builds and maintains strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders and community‑based physicians, serving as the main point of contact.

The role liaises with other BMS functions to deliver a higher Cx, prioritizing safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results and exemplifying BMS values. The TAS is field‑based, spending 100% of the time in the field with external customers.

Key Responsibilities Portfolio Promotion
  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Engages with and continuously maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Proactively uses tools such as CE^3 (once implemented) to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise and passion, using approved resources to present accurate information to HCPs.
  • Conducts in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discusses product‑related scientific information consistent with label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs, selecting approved speakers from the Speakers Bureau and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains a high level of expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real‑time medical support through Medical on Call to reactively answer unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
Cross‑functional Collaboration
  • Collaborates proactively with other field teams to ensure the best Cx for HCPs.
  • Shares relevant insights and information internally with appropriate stakeholders to improve customer service.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers and the wider influence network.
  • Experience in oncology required.
  • Strong account management and selling competencies with a proven sales performance track record.
  • Ability to work effectively cross‑functionally with a positive team mindset and can‑do attitude.
  • Excellent selling and promotional skills demonstrated through performance.
