Temporary Event Sales Manager (Leave Coverage | March–June)
We are seeking a Temporary Event Sales Manager to provide coverage during an employee leave. This is a temporary assignment beginning in March
, with an anticipated end in June
; the end date is flexible and may be adjusted based on the duration of the leave and business needs.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $30–$35 per hour
, based on experience.
The Event Sales Manager is responsible for planning and execution of event sales at the club, working to enhance the member and guest experience and strategically drive event revenue. The Event Sales Manager, in collaboration with the Event Sales Director, manages client relationships and ensures the successful coordination of all event sales. The Event Sales Manager exercises independent judgment and decision-making authority in the areas of sales, business development, event planning, and revenue generation.
The Manager plays a key role in achieving the annual event sales plan by maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence.
- Reports to the General Manager
- Oversee and direct the execution of sales plans to drive event sales revenue, ensuring alignment with club goals and regional sales standards.
- Provide direction to Event Sales Coordinator to achieve targets by fostering a results-driven and collaborative sales environment.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to provide insights that support the development of sales strategies.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with clients and prospects through proactive engagement and networking opportunities within and beyond the club.
- Oversee and guide the client consultation process, offering recommendations and assisting in the development of event solutions that align with client expectations and club objectives.
- Evaluate and act on client feedback to identify opportunities for service enhancements and improved client satisfaction.
- Establish standards for documentation and tracking of event-related activities and expenses in compliance with financial and operational policies.
- Utilize sales management tools, such as Cater Pro and Power BI, to assist in tracking sales performance and managing event data effectively.
- Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
- Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
- Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a commissioned sales role within the hospitality or events industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- College degree in hospitality, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience establishing marketing and prospecting programs to drive event revenues.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and event management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
