Account Executive – Field Sales, New Verticals
Door Dash is looking for an Account Executive – Field Sales to join our New Verticals team. This hybrid role combines primarily inside sales (about 70%) with targeted field-based selling (about 30%) to close high-priority deals with small- and mid‑size merchants (SMBs).
About the TeamOn the New Verticals team, our mission is to build the future of local commerce by expanding our product offerings on the Door Dash platform. Stationed regionally, the team owns new business development by creating deep partnerships with the most coveted local and regional merchants across Grocery, Convenience, Liquor, Retail, and Flower segments.
Responsibilities- Identify, pitch, and sign the best local and regional SMB merchants onto Door Dash.
- Manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting through close—in a fast‑paced, transactional environment.
- Conduct high‑volume outreach (90+ cold calls and emails per day) and creative prospecting.
- Step into the field to meet merchants face‑to‑face, build relationships, and finalize partnerships.
- Travel as needed (including occasional overnight or flight travel).
- Report to the Sales Manager for New Verticals and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- 3–4 years of experience in a high‑volume inside‑sales environment.
- Experience selling to SMB B2B merchants.
- Proven ability to manage a full sales cycle and close deals.
- Strong customer‑focused mindset with a dynamic and persistent personality.
- Comfortable with sales and internal tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Navigator, and Google Apps.
- Ability to travel for in‑person collaboration as business needs arise.
Base salary: $18.72 – $31.50 USD per hour (role‑specific). Total on‑target earnings (base + commissions): $31.20 – $52.50 USD per hour.
