• Be visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the checkout lane.
• Use the Point of Sale (POS) system to handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and other payment methods.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Apply policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with seasonal and special ads.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report needed repairs.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, appreciated, and informed.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Resolve conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

The final rate of pay is determined at store level based on prior equivalent experience.
