About

the Position

The Donation Station Attendant is responsible for accepting donated goods from the public and providing excellent customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner; unloads donations from vehicles and offers tax receipts.
  • Evaluates donated items to determine if acceptable for donation.
  • Sorts donations into assigned categories and packs safely into container(s).
  • Informs supervisor of status of station, container footage, and condition.
  • Maintains accurate donor tallies and other support duties.
  • Maintains accurate and timely loading check lists.
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment.
  • Identifies and properly disposes of garbage and processes recyclable material.
  • Builds and maintains internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
  • If applicable:
    Consistent and safe execution of duties associated with forklift operation when certified to Seattle Goodwill standards.
  • Must maintain reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Ability to read, speak and write English and perform basic math skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
  • Forklift certification optional; must meet eligibility requirements.
Computer / Technology Skills
  • Ability to use a mobile phone.
Physical Demands

Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 40–60 pounds, stand for long periods, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; balance; bend and reach with hands and arms; use feet to operate foot pedal operation; talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb ladders, sit, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
