The pay for this role is $22-25 per hour DOE. The shift for this role is Monday – Friday between the hours of ~9:00 AM to ~9:00 PM. Coverage on Saturday or Sunday may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with resident dietary restrictions.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance audits.
  • Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling practices and ensure compliance with King County and DSHS regulations.
  • Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors.
  • Hire, orient, train, and evaluate kitchen staff.
  • Supervise and assign duties to production and utility personnel.
  • Create a motivating environment that encourages employee involvement, creativity, and problem solving.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Chef in his absence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience as a cook/chef, preferably in a senior living community.
  • Ability to prepare high quality food for our residents.
  • Able to work holidays and pre-planned events.
  • Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external constituents.
  • Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
  • Successful completion of recognized food safety course.
Physical Requirements
  • On occasion, you may need to push, pull, lift to 50 lbs.
