The pay for this role is $22-25 per hour DOE. The shift for this role is Monday – Friday between the hours of ~9:00 AM to ~9:00 PM. Coverage on Saturday or Sunday may be required.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with resident dietary restrictions.
- Conduct regular quality assurance audits.
- Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling practices and ensure compliance with King County and DSHS regulations.
- Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors.
- Hire, orient, train, and evaluate kitchen staff.
- Supervise and assign duties to production and utility personnel.
- Create a motivating environment that encourages employee involvement, creativity, and problem solving.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Chef in his absence.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 1-2 years of experience as a cook/chef, preferably in a senior living community.
- Ability to prepare high quality food for our residents.
- Able to work holidays and pre-planned events.
- Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external constituents.
- Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
- Successful completion of recognized food safety course.
- On occasion, you may need to push, pull, lift to 50 lbs.
