GSC Community Dining Program Manager
Position Overview
Assigned to the Greenwood Senior Center, the GSC Community Dining Program Manager will supervise and participate in the preparation and service of daily nutritious lunch meals. The manager will maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable kitchen environment, coordinate with volunteers, and perform basic administrative duties and reporting.
The role reports to the Director of Senior Programming and aligns with the Phinney Neighborhood Association’s commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Supervise and participate in food preparation and service, including main entrees and preliminary prep for next day’s meals.
- Shop for weekly menu items, pick up food donations, and manage the meal program budget.
- Inspect food to ensure proper quantity, quality, and handling; train kitchen volunteers in cooking and safe food handling.
- Plan, organize, and rotate menus, accounting for inventory, and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Lead kitchen cleaning and equipment maintenance, ensuring sanitation and safety standards.
- Perform basic bookkeeping duties, record daily receipts, and follow cash control procedures.
- Coordinate with the Senior Center to align the meal program with center activities and goals.
- Attend all‑staff meetings and trainings as requested.
- Lead a team of kitchen volunteers.
- Demonstrate eagerness to learn and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; participate in related educational events.
- Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food preparation, kitchen management, and supervision.
- Experience working with older adults.
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Current First Aid / CPR / AED training (PNA will provide).
- Team orientation and appreciation for the community‑building mission of PNA.
- Ability to work in an open office environment.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and ability to climb stairs.
