Postdoctoral Fellow positions available in Dr. Tanya Mayadas lab:
Postdoctoral Fellow positions are available to study the emerging role of neutrophils as antigen-presenting cells and regulators of adaptive immunity in cancer and autoimmune kidney disease, including lupus nephritis. The project will investigate how neutrophils interact with T cells and other immune populations to shape disease outcomes and how these pathways can be harnessed for immunotherapy. The successful candidate will use molecular, cellular, and in vivo approaches, including CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, biochemical analyses, and mouse disease models.
Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or equivalent in immunology or a related field with strong molecular and immunological training, and experience with animal models. Additional expertise in neutrophil biology, imaging, and work with primary human neutrophils is a plus. The fellow will join a vibrant and collaborative research environment within the Institute for Immunological Sciences, with access to state-of-the-art platforms in single-cell and spatial genomics, human tissue-on-a chip, and advanced imaging.
Applicants should send a CV, brief statement of research interests, and contact information for three references to Dr. Tanya N. Mayadas, PhD, Chair, Microbiology and Immunology Department, Pichichero Director, Institute for Immunological Sciences, University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester NY. Email: hester.edu
Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or equivalent in immunology or a related biomedical discipline. The ideal candidate will have strong training in experimental immunology and experience in several of the following areas:
- Molecular biology approaches including CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing
- Biochemistry and protein analysis
- Mouse models of disease, particularly cancer or autoimmune models
- Flow cytometry and immune cell phenotyping
- Expertise in neutrophil biology
- Experience working with primary human neutrophils
- Advanced imaging approaches or spatial analysis of immune responses
