Senior Research Associate, Analytical Development

Use living cells to treat cancer as part of a clinical‑stage company advancing next‑generation CAR T‑cell therapies for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. The role supports scientists in designing, executing, and analyzing experiments that drive our pipeline forward.
Responsibilities- Design, conduct, and analyze experiments independently.
- Maintain and review electronic lab notebook reports.
- Collaborate with scientists to interrogate novel therapies using assays and models.
- Interpret, troubleshoot, and discuss data with scientists and research associates at meetings or via reports.
- Complete research and experiments that influence functional goals of the project.
- BSc in biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, oncology, or related field with a minimum of 7 years’ experience within the area of focus.
- MSc in the same fields with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Molecular biology protocols (PCR, Western, RT‑PCR, basic cloning); more advanced experience is a plus.
- Immunology and oncology assays; cell therapy experience preferred.
- Proficient in sterile tissue culture technique and working with human cells.
- Flow cytometry assays and analysis; sorting experience is a plus.
- Data production and reporting for IND‑enabling studies.
- Other specific experience may be required.
Skills and Abilities
- Understand the theoretical basis and experimental objectives in the context of overall project goals.
- Proficiency in a range of technical skills within the area of research.
Annual salary range $95,000 – $118,000, with potential for an annual bonus. Employees are eligible to participate in Lyell’s Equity Incentive Plan.
