Construction Quality Assurance Testing Technician Who We Are
AAR Testing and Inspection currently has four office locations in Redmond, Lacey, Poulsbo, and Wenatchee. AAR provides construction quality management, quality assurance, quality control, and materials testing services. We have been a forefront of the inspection and testing industry in the Greater-Seattle Area since our founding in 1989. Our firm has over 100 employes consisting of project managers, engineers, inspectors, field technicians, lab technicians, administrative staff, and document control specialists.
AAR has been providing quality inspection/testing services to a large scope of projects across Washington, covering everything from large-scale transportation projects to privately owned buildings.
This position is an opportunity to get your foot in the door in an industry where your growth is only limited to your own potential. We want our testing technicians to strive and grow internally, and we do so by investing in them. This position will start with you learning about our job sites and training under highly certified inspectors. When you are ready to take on a certification, we will pay for the classes and testing fees.
In the industry of testing and inspection, our technicians are a critical asset. By completing additional testing certifications, you will build upon your resume and open the door to additional opportunities and pay increases.
After getting your first certification to inspect and test concrete there are many paths to follow including soils testing/inspection, steel inspection, and construction site management. Job Responsibilities- Material Testing (Certifications Required)
- Review approved construction drawings and specifications
- Communicate with contractor workers, foremen, superintendents, project managers, building inspectors and report findings
- Write concise inspection reports using specific language pertaining to contract documents, approved drawings, and any applicable code
- Communicate with AAR office to report inspection observations, scheduling and sample pick up coordination
- Inspection and verification of materials for compliance to the plans and specifications
- Accurately complete quality records relating to material testing
- Review of contract documents
- Ensure that contractors comply with specifications
- The ability to obtain additional certifications to perform in-field material testing
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Authorization to work in the United States
- No previous experience in the construction industry is required
- Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ICC, ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC, and/or CWI
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Energetic, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage a multi-task workload

Sign-on bonuses up to $2000 may apply
Hourly Pay: $22.00 to $34.00
