Quality Assurance Specialist
OverviewWe are looking for a dedicated Food Safety Specialist to help strengthen and oversee our facility’s food safety and quality programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring all products meet regulatory expectations as well as internal and customer standards. You’ll work closely with teams across QA, Production, Sanitation, and other departments to maintain a safe and compliant operation.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development, implementation, and upkeep of HACCP plans, GMPs, SSOPs, and other core food safety systems.
- Perform routine monitoring to verify adherence to food safety and quality requirements each day.
- Assist with internal audits and prepare for external inspections from regulatory agencies or third‑party auditors.
- Help identify food safety concerns and participate in root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Ensure proper maintenance of records, documentation, and employee training related to food safety programs.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to maintain effective food safety controls throughout the facility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field, or relevant equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of food safety or quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles, GMP requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Excellent communication, documentation accuracy, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Experience in USDA‑regulated facilities, especially with meat or poultry production.
- Certifications such as HACCP, PCQI, or GFSI auditor training.
- Background in QA/QC, auditing, microbiology, biology, chemistry, OSHA compliance, and SOP/Sanitation processes.
This is a Permanent position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
