Summary
The Department of Natural Resources & Parks (DNRP) is looking to fill two short‑term temporary (STT) positions in the Wastewater Treatment Division. These positions are open to all qualified candidates and have an anticipated duration of up to 6 months (ending 10/31/25 or up to 960 hours, whichever comes first).
About the RoleThe Seasonal Helpers will provide assistance to the Gardening and Utility Worker staff at West Point Treatment Plant. Duties include basic gardening, pressure washing, litter and garbage removal, and other support tasks that help maintain and beautify the plant’s trails, grounds, and structures during the peak spring and summer workload.
Job Duties- Operate mowers, pressure washers, line trimmers, leaf blowers, and other hand or power tools.
- Assist with maintenance and cleaning of facilities, including grounds, garden beds, floors, windows, and surrounding areas.
- Perform general labor tasks such as clean‑up, moving furniture and equipment, picking up litter, and operating county vehicles.
- Clean plant common areas, empty garbage, and support deep‑clean projects.

Required Licenses:
- Valid, unencumbered Washington State driver’s license.
- Location: West Point Treatment Plant (1400 Discovery Park Blvd, Seattle, WA) and other King County off‑site facilities; initially at Alki Wet Weather Treatment Station.
- Schedule: 40‑hour work week; all shifts, including work during adverse weather. Overtime eligible.
- Union Representation: S.E.I.U. 925 (Wastewater Treatment Division).
- Physical Requirements: Lift and carry up to 50 lb, use ladders, and may be exposed to hazardous chemicals and noxious odors. Pre‑employment physical, driving record review, and reference checks required.
First consideration will be given to qualified S.E.I.U. 925 WTD applicants, but all qualified applicants are welcome. Candidates will be screened for clarity, completeness, and alignment with the essential qualifications. Selected candidates may be invited to a technical assessment and one or more panel interviews.
