Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work overnight in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department in Downtown Seattle, WA.

LVT Pay: $25.60 - $49.15 / hour

Sign-on Bonus: $3,000 for qualified candidates!

This location covers the cost of parking Downtown and bus passes.

Schedule: Overnight shift either 3 12-hour shifts or 4 10-hour shifts.

Pay Band: Starting point dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system.

We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends, based on a 4-hour minimum. Examples include:

  • Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases, obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
  • Understand normal ranges of vital signs and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Calculate medical math, administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
  • Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Mentor and train colleagues, and address client concerns with patience and empathy.
