** PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Supervise assigned staff ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, insurance and other financial requirements, and hospital policies and procedures
* Act as a liaison between patients, consulting physician, referring physician, or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments, admission, or surgery
* Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen
* Consistently demonstrates productive and timely communication with charge nursing staff, peers, patients, physicians, volunteers and other medical center departments and ancillary service
* Increase collaboration between our PCC/PSS team through regular meetings and addressing overlap and delegation of duties between the two teams
* Oversee break and vacation coverage through equitable means
* Report out weekly, Accu Reg, phone calls, referral numbers to administration
* Coordinate pre-admission test and procedures
* Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia work ups are completed
* Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians, medial staff and Admitting
** REQUIREMENTS
* ** Bachelor's Degree in a medically related or public relations field
* Two years of experience as a Patient Care Coordinator
* OR* An equivalent combination of education/experience
