Job Description
The University of Washington School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital has Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) positions available at the rank of Teaching Associate. These positions are without tenure and are full‑time or part‑time with a 12‑month service period. The anticipated start date is June 2026. The base salary range for these positions is $20,834 – $23,469 per month ($250,008 – $281,628 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
This range includes base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to salary from the University. Only University‑provided compensation is included in University benefit determinations; compensation via the CUMG practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits. Seattle Children’s provides care to children from the WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho) and supports all pediatric surgical and medical specialties. CRNAs implement the mission, vision, and values of Seattle Children’s Hospital – to provide hope, care, and cures to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible. CRNAs will demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to provide anesthesia care for children of all ages, from neonate to young adult.
CRNAs work in collaboration with the medically supervising physician under the standards of the Department of Anesthesiology and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- May provide coverage for operating rooms and non‑operative anesthesia locations at all Seattle Children’s locations, including the Main campus in Seattle and the Surgery Center in Bellevue.
- Review medical records and conduct pre‑operative evaluations.
- Work collaboratively with attending anesthesiologist to determine appropriate anesthetic plan for upcoming surgery.
- Prepare the appropriate equipment for anesthesia administration.
- Initiate and maintain general and/or regional anesthesia, sedation, airway management, emergence, and post‑anesthesia care.
- Involved in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and supervision of SRNAs.
Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program required. Successful completion of the National Certification Examination from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Obtain state licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice licensure in Washington. Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.
