PICU Registered Nurse (Travel) – Night Shift | Seattle, WA (98105)

PICU Registered Nurse / Travel RN needed for a 13-week pediatric critical care travel nursing job in Seattle, WA. Join a nationally recognized teaching and Magnet hospital and deliver high-quality pediatric intensive care on the night shift. Ideal candidates have strong PICU RN experience, current BLS & PALS, and are excited to work in a Level I Trauma pediatric facility in the 98105 area.

Details – PICU Travel Nurse (Seattle, WA)
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (potential to extend)
  • Location: Seattle, WA 98105 – Seattle travel nursing jobs / Washington nursing jobs
  • Facility Type: Pediatric, Teaching, Magnet, Level I Trauma Center
  • Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – 40 beds
  • Shift: Night Shift – 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00); rotating or straight nights
  • Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed Hours)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
  • Start Date: March 16, 2026
  • End Date: June 15, 2026
  • Weekend Requirement: 6 weekends per 13-week assignment
  • Charting / EMR: EPIC (experience preferred, not required)
  • Attire: Any scrub color or kid-friendly T-shirt top
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1840-$1940
Required Qualifications – PICU RN / Pediatric ICU Nurse
  • Minimum 2 years of independent PICU RN experience in a 20+ bed PICU (required)
  • Active Washington RN license or Compact RN license (pending accepted)
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications (required)
  • Experience with high-acuity pediatric patients (neurosurgery, hem/onc, BMT, respiratory, transplant)
  • Ability to float to NICU, CICU, and acute care pediatric floors as needed (orientation provided)
  • Strong foundational pediatric critical care skills; teaching facility experience preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Responsibilities – Pediatric Critical Care Nursing
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced PICU environment
  • Monitor and manage advanced life support equipment (ECMO, CRRT, ventilators, EVDs, arterial lines)
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, APPs, therapists, and support staff
  • Float to other pediatric critical care units after orientation as needed
  • Participate in patient and family education, care planning, and emotional support
  • Document care and interventions accurately using EPIC (electronic medical record)
  • Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards
  • Potential to precept new staff or travel nurses
