Public Health Seattle-King County is accepting applications for Registered Nurse (RN) correctional health specialty. Our nurses provide skilled, medically necessary health care to adults in custody at the King County Jails. This posting offers both Term-Limited Temporary and Career Service positions.

• Provide patient care based on practice guidelines, community standards of care, and Federal and State laws and regulations.
• Perform nursing assessments and interventions including medical, dental and psychiatric screening; monitor and document treatment progress and patient response.
• Evaluate, monitor, and treat drug and alcohol withdrawal.
• Carry out prescribed treatments and wound care.
• Administer medications and vaccinations.
• Provide mental health services as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Respond to emergencies throughout the facility; perform CPR when needed.
• Provide health education.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Current Washington State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Associate degree in nursing or higher (BSN, MSN, DNP, or PhD) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must pass a security clearance, background check, pre-employment physical, and credentialing.
• BL S-CPR for healthcare providers.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License or ability to travel to various sites within Seattle-King County.

Term-Limited Temporary and Career Service positions with a range of 0.8 - 1.0 FTE. Term-Limited Temporary positions are projected to last 18 months but may be extended or ended based on funding and operational needs. Career Service positions have no term limit. Shifts may include morning, evening, and/or night; assignments may be outside the typical schedule to meet operational needs. Positions are overtime eligible under FLSA.

King County Correctional Facility, 500 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104.

Interviews will begin the week of February 11th-13th and continue until needs are met.

Open to all minimally qualified nurses, including new-to-practice and re-entry nurses.
