Job Description

Provide nursing support for inpatient endoscopic procedures in a high-volume gastroenterology unit.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine.

Pay range: $45.59 - $83.64 per hour.

Other compensation includes: BSN (or higher) premium $1.00/hr; certification premium $1.25/hr; on‑call standby premium $7.00/hr; night premium $5.00/hr; weekend premium $4.00/hr.

Full-time, 100% FTE, regular position.

Work Schedule
  • 4x10 shift schedule
  • Primarily day shifts, Monday‑Friday
  • On‑call responsibilities: one weeknight per week and one weekend per month
About Our Endoscopy Unit
  • High‑volume inpatient procedural unit
  • 3 rooms, seeing close to 24 patients each day
  • RNs provide procedural support for therapeutic, diagnostic, and screening GI services and bronchoscopies

Primary

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist providers during endoscopic procedures
  • Provide patient care before, during, and after conscious sedation
  • Educate patients
  • Administer medication
  • Use and maintain endoscopic equipment
  • Help manage emergencies and complications
  • Promote efficient patient flow by assisting with patient admission, phone triage, and record keeping
Requirements
  • 2 years of recent procedural or gastroenterology nursing experience
  • BLS certification
  • Active RN licensure in Washington State
