Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-acuity Labor and Delivery position at a Level 3 Perinatal Center, requiring a WA or compact RN license and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit with both antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patient care

• High-risk, complex patient population with approximately 150 births per month

• Level 3 Perinatal Center with access to a regional Level 4 NICU

• Patient ratio is 1:1 for laboring patients

• Two operating rooms on unit for C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&Cs

• A second LD RN assists as baby catcher for well, non-compromised newborns

• Night shifts available in 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules

• Weekend coverage required

• No call requirements

• Floating may be required within the hospital but not to sister hospitals

• Scrubs of any color allowed, with OR scrubs provided

• Uses Epic for charting

• Work in a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital environment

• Care for a diverse range of complex and high-risk maternal and neonatal patients

• No radius restriction; local candidates accepted at same rates

• Maximum of one week of requested time off per contract; no RTO allowed during orientation

• Prior UW staff must have at least 18 months separation before returning as a traveler

• First-time travelers accepted for this assignment

• Holiday and weekend coverage as scheduled is expected

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license, or proof of pending license accepted

• BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required

• Minimum of 2 years recent L&D experience required, with 3 years preferred

• At least 2 previous travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience preferred

• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
