Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 2 years of recent experience and BLS/NRP certifications for night shifts at a high acuity perinatal center.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit specializing in high-risk, complex cases
- Patient ratios are 1:1 for laboring patients
- Serves childbearing women through antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- High acuity, Level 3 Perinatal Center with approximately 150 births per month
- Onsite Level 4 NICU as a regional referral center
- Unit includes 2 operating rooms for C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&Cs
- Night shift schedule with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
- Weekend shifts are required
- Floating within hospital may be required, not to sister hospitals
- Uses Epic charting (Epic experience preferred but not required)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Responsible for high-risk obstetric care, including participating with the surgical team during C-sections
- Partner with a second RN for neonatal support as "baby catcher" during delivery
- Occasional outpatient services coverage when the clinic is closed
- Orientation week time off not permitted; limit RTO to one week maximum
- No call or block scheduling available
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rates
- Parking available on site for a daily fee
- Active WA or compact RN license, or proof of pending license
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience; 3 years preferred
- At least 2 prior travel assignments beyond initial hospital strongly preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required
- Teaching hospital and trauma experience preferred
- Ability to wear any color scrubs; scrubs provided for OR cases
- References and skills checklist required for consideration
- Previous staff must have a separation of at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
