Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a WA or compact RN license, BLS, and neuro/trauma experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a 25-bed Operating Room within a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Magnet-designated and teaching hospital environment
- Patient cases are heavy in ortho, spine, and neuro, with no cardiac or transplant surgeries
- Day and night rotating 12-hour shifts with varying start times; weekends required
- No block scheduling or floating outside scope
- Medication system used is Pyxis
- EPIC charting system is used, experience preferred but not required
- RTO not permitted during orientation and not to exceed 6 days
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Team structure includes a highly specialized trauma and neuro surgical staff
- Onsite parking available with daily rates; additional offsite parking and shuttle options available
- No on-call required
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Return staff policy requires a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- Active WA or compact RN license required (compact users must complete WA license application and suicide prevention training)
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting including neuro cases
- Current BLS certification required
- Circulate skills required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required
- First-time travelers accepted
- No pending licenses accepted
- Prior staff must be separated by 18 months for consideration
