Overview

CRNA - CAPITOL HILL/SEATTLE WA - FLAGSHIP LOCATION. TWO 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM. NO WEEKENDS. This position administers general anesthesia and select regional anesthetics for surgical patients and related services, supports life functioning during anesthesia, and manages airway and invasive monitoring as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Plans anesthetic management in collaboration with the attending anesthesiologist. Assures availability and proper functioning of equipment, supplies and medications.
  • Ensures an appropriate pre-anesthesia evaluation is completed. Reassesses the patient prior to induction to determine readiness for the planned anesthetic. Administers anesthetic agents, monitors vital signs, and provides resuscitative care as needed in the perianesthetic period.
  • Provides anesthesia care consistent with KFHPW policies, rules and regulations. Accurately records anesthetic events on the anesthesia record in a prompt and legible fashion.
  • Communicates post-anesthesia care needs and changes in patient condition to the post-anesthesia care team and attending anesthesiologist.
  • Records post-anesthetic interviews in the patient’s medical record, documenting presence or absence of anesthesia-related complications. Reports complications to the attending anesthesiologist. Participates in departmental activities and continuing education; shares professional skills with other departments.

Education
  • Master's degree in nursing with a post-masters certification in anesthesia.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse License (Washington) required at hire OR Compact License:
    Registered Nurse required at hire
  • Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License (Washington) required at hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support required at hire
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist National Certification within 3 months of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support required at hire
  • Basic Life Support required at hire
