Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel) – Night Shift | Seattle, WA

Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

  Seattle, WA 98122 (Pacific Northwest healthcare hub)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date:
  
  September 8, 2025
• End Date:
  December 8, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30), 36 hours/week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1810 - $1940
• Setting:
  High-acuity, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit (31 beds, 4 ORs, 500-600 deliveries/month)
• Employment Type:

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Experience:
  
  Minimum 4 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital (5 years preferred)
• Travel Nursing
  
  Experience:
  
  Prior travel RN experience required (first-time travelers not eligible)
• Licensure:
  Active Washington RN license or Compact RN license
• Required
  
  Certifications:
  
  BLS, NRP
• Preferred
  
  Certifications:
  
  ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• References:
  Two current supervisory references (covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years)
• Charting:
  Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
• Documentation:
  Must provide proof of certifications and licensure upon submission

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk and high-volume cases
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with vaginal deliveries (circulating experience required)
• Serve as Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing newborn care (eyes, thighs, assessment, Vitamin K injections)
• Administer medications such as Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate, and others as indicated
• Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and support breastfeeding/lactation
• Float to Postpartum/Antepartum units and sister facilities for Mother/Baby care as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including OBs, midwives, pharmacy, respiratory, and social services
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR and adhere to AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required
