Position: Pastoral Assistant Youth Ministries - Hourly

Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly Position Type:
Part Time

Parish Family 13 consisting of Christ the King (Seattle) and St. Luke (Shoreline) is seeking a part time Youth Minister! This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team in an established youth ministry program. Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the Pastor, staff, and consultative bodies in implementing the mission of the parish.
  • Assures the development of programs and activities for middle school and/or high school youth that foster spiritual formation. This should include but not be limited to weekly youth nights, retreats, social events, recreation, athletic activities, outreach programs, youth-oriented liturgies, and community service opportunities.
  • Recruits, enables, directs, trains and supervises youth ministry team members, catechists and other personnel for faith formation programs for middle school and high school youth. The coordination of the Youth Confirmation program is not included in this position. However, there is an expectation that the PA for Youth Ministry assists and supports the Confirmation program as needed.
  • Develops and administers the youth program budget with the Director of Pastoral Ministries and Youth Ministry staff. Collaborates on fundraising efforts for special youth experiences – i.e. mission trips, conferences, etc.
  • Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required for this ministry through regular updating, reading appropriate materials and participation at workshops and conventions. Participates in local, regional and national professional organizations, as approved and as appropriate.

We are open to this role being a combination of full-time and part-time positions, so there is another position description posted in full-time, as well.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree and experience in youth ministry in a Catholic parish as a Youth Minister, Catechist, or other proven leadership is preferred. Must be a practicing Roman Catholic and fully participate in sacramental life.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
