Non-Profit & Social Impact
We are currently hiring a full-time Volunteer Engagement Director to join our team. Food Lifeline is seeking a strategic, operationally savvy leader to direct one of the most visible and mission‑critical programs in our organization: volunteer engagement.
Each year, thousands of community members volunteer alongside Food Lifeline to help ensure food reaches neighbors across Western Washington. Volunteers are not auxiliary support to our work — they are essential to it.
As Volunteer Engagement Director, you will lead the development and execution of a multi‑year volunteer engagement strategy that strengthens mission impact, deepens community relationships, and integrates seamlessly with warehouse operations. This role sits at the intersection of community engagement, operations, and philanthropy — designing a volunteer experience that builds pathways to advocacy and giving while ensuring safe, efficient, mission‑driven repack operations.
You will lead and develop a high‑performing team, strengthen corporate and community partnerships, and use data and key performance indicators to drive performance and continuous improvement. You will also ensure equity and inclusion are embedded throughout the volunteer experience.
This is a senior leadership role ideal for someone who is both a systems thinker and a people‑centered leader — someone who understands operational complexity and believes volunteerism can be a powerful entry point into broader systems change.

Movement through the salary range may occur over time and is guided by performance, role development, and organizational compensation practices.
