Summary

Join a dynamic team dedicated to transforming communities across King County by working with a group of skilled grant professionals. King County Parks is hiring for two (2) Career Service and one (1) Term-Limited Temporary Grant Managers (Project/Program Manager II). As a Grant Manager (Project/Program Manager II), you'll play a pivotal role in connecting community partners with grant funding that will shape the future of recreational programming, aquatic center upgrades, and other key open space initiatives, which will have a lasting impact on our region's vital community parks and recreation priorities.

About the Role:

The Grant Manager role will support multiple grant programs and a high volume of grants with a focus on collaboration with grantees and working internally to bring awards to contract, ensure accurate invoicing and reporting, and support the Parks mission through successful grant projects.

This role will be part of a high-impact team working to invest in communities throughout King County. This opportunity will allow you to collaborate and work closely with a talented and committed team of Grant Managers. Through this role, you will make a lasting impact on our region through investments designed to preserve and increase equitable access to quality recreational facilities and programing.

This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work.

About the Team:

The Parks Community Investments Team administers grant funding for a variety of parks and recreation portfolios, including programs and capital projects. There are multiple grant programs housed in this unit, including Aquatic Facilities, Healthy Communities and Parks, and Youth and Amateur Sports among others. The team is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our partners and pursues continuous improvements through community engagement and collaboration.

Job Duties

What You Will Be Doing:

* Manage a high-volume of grants from contracting through close-out, in compliance with policies and funding parameters.

* Provide technical assistance to grant applicants, grant recipients, community, and internal partners.

* Organize and prioritize work to respond to changing needs and to meet deadlines.

* Develop, track, and amend scopes of work, budgets, deliverables, and workplans.

* Process requests for payment in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is in place.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of internal and external partners to foster collaboration and successful achievement of Parks goals to preserve and increase equitable access to recreation and open space.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Qualifications You Bring:

* Demonstrated experience with multiple grantmaking cycles, including contracting, invoicing, and compliance.

* Experience working with government or nonprofit organizations.

* Progressive experience in project or program management, including a proven track record of independently managing complex projects or programs while meeting deadlines and delivering results in dynamic environments.

* Experience with Microsoft Office (such as Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams).

* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively toward a common goal.

* Highly effective oral and written communications, including writing/proofreading and communicating cross-culturally.

* Proven commitment to and ability to apply principles of equity, social justice, and anti-racism in programs and policies.
