Learn how Metro connects you with what matters

This position is open to King County Employees Only.

King County Metro is seeking a detail-oriented and people-centered Mentorship Project/Program Manager I to support implementation and day-to-day coordination of our Mentors Moving Metro program.
This is a TLT/SDA position expected to last through 12/2027. This program, developed in partnership with labor partner ATU 587, pairs new bus operators with experienced operators as mentors to support the well-being, sense of belonging, and retention of new Operators.

In this position, you will support program operations, logistics, communications, data tracking, and participant engagement. You’ll help coordinate trainings and events (both virtual and in-person), manage outreach efforts at Metro bases, and maintain accurate records to support reporting and evaluation. You’ll also work closely with internal partners and frontline employees to build trust, answer questions, and promote program participation.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging directly with Operators and employees across diverse backgrounds, communicating clearly with individuals whose primary language may not be English, and applying principles of equity, inclusion, and respect in daily work.

This recruitment will be used to fill one TLT/SDA position. In addition, this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future term limited temporary, and special duty assignment vacancies that may occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility pool will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.
