Systems Development Eng (AWS Generative AI & ML Servers) – AWS Hardware Engineering Accelerators
Join us at Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help build the backbone of the Generative AI cloud, designing, delivering, and operating AWS cloud offerings that enable high performance and scalability in AI/ML and HPC workloads. We’re looking for builders who are innovative self‑starters with deep knowledge of the full technical stack from bare‑metal server hardware up to userland software.
Key Responsibilities- Lead technical design and implementation of next‑generation AWS platforms for AI training and inference.
- Own team systems, proactively identify deficiencies, develop tactical code to resolve issues before they impact customers, and scale solutions across our fleet.
- Decompose large, complex server testing, reliability, and diagnostics problems into actionable tasks and lead delivery through yourself and team members.
- Collaborate with AWS Hardware Engineering, EC2, and other AWS services to drive high quality and reliability into accelerated server solutions.
The Hardware Engineering AI/ML development team is based in Seattle, Cupertino, and Austin, working on global programs that launch hardware into the fleet. Our designs are industry‑leading in frugality, operational excellence, and quality.
Basic Qualifications- 2+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
- 1+ year of experience designing or architecting new or existing systems with a focus on reliability and scaling.
- 7+ years administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands‑on systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, OS).
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby.
- Experience with Power Shell, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
