This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which supports Manufacturing and Supply Chain across all Blue Origin facilities. The position provides tactical and technical support to engineering, production, and manufacturing teams through design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro/mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.
The role requires working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, and layouts to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting.
- Configure new production work areas with the necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize potential delays during the transition to high-rate manufacturing.
- Operate precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, etc.) to maintain high safety and quality standards.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
- Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency.
- Perform precision work in a clean room environment.
The Integration Technician at Blue Origin plays a pivotal role in advancing the efficiency and reliability of aerospace components through cutting-edge assembly methods. You will manufacture and assemble hardware on the first stage of our premier launch vehicle, New Glenn, and share in the team’s impact on transforming tank integration. This position directly impacts the history of space exploration and requires a dedicated, detail-oriented commitment to safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience with aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another related field: 3+ years.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Experience with precision calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, and optical measuring instruments.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
- Expertise in adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets.
- Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in a related field.
- Experience with cryogenic systems, fluid assembly, and aerospace/launch vehicle assembly.
- Knowledge of precision assembly processes and handling large aerospace components.
- Strong technical and leadership skills with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in diverse teams.
- Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes.
- Experience with aerospace payloads, fairings, capsules.
- Experience with large out‑of‑autoclave curing and production control systems.
- Willingness to work overtime.
WA applicants: $29.91 – $41.87 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
