Technician - Assembly & Integration II

Position Overview

Join Blue Origin’s Operations team—an integral part of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance—to build launch vehicles, spacecraft, and launch facility systems across all Blue Origin facilities. In this role you will manufacture, assemble, and support hardware testing that meets program requirements, ensuring safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assemble structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanically actuated component sub‑assemblies for New Shepard, New Glenn, and engine components.
• Perform assemblies to aerospace standards.
• Collaborate with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback to facilitate assembly, and support development tests.
• Review, edit, and follow work instructions for assembly tasks.
• Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations.
• Safely work with hazardous systems containing chemicals and/or high pressure.
• Work in a team environment with multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
• Apply excellent problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience drilling and preparing close tolerance holes for structural assembly and fastener installation.
• 5+ years’ experience in aerospace or related fields.
• Ability to document and maintain accurate records, strict procedural compliance, and read drawings and prints.
• Proficiency with standard tools and basic fabrication equipment.
• Experience assembling and troubleshooting aerospace, military hardware, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to use standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Work Monday‑Thursday, 10‑hour shifts (5 AM‑3:30 PM) with potential for overtime.

Must Be Physically Able To

• Climb ladders and stairs, and work in small, restricted areas.
• Lift and carry 25 lbs.

Desired

• Experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and vehicle integration.
• A&P license or equivalent experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and integration.
• Familiarity with pressurized system safety for pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight‑critical hardware.
• Experience with 3D measurement tools and Spatial analyzer/Verisurf software.
• Working knowledge of rocket propellants, including hydrogen peroxide, RP, and cryogenics.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD tools (CREO preferred) and ability to read and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M‑1994 standard.

Compensation

WA applicants: $29.91 – $41.87 (hourly). Compensation for other locations may differ.
