We are partnering with a globally recognized maritime organization to identify a Regional Compliance Manager responsible for ensuring vessel safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness across the Pacific Northwest Coast region.
This role is critical in supporting vessel operators by conducting pre-emptive compliance inspections and helping prevent costly delays, detentions, and operational disruptions.
Position OverviewThe Regional Compliance Manager will conduct vessel inspections, audits, and compliance oversight activities to ensure adherence to international maritime conventions and applicable maritime regulations. This individual will serve as a trusted compliance authority, working proactively to identify and resolve deficiencies prior to Port State Control or regulatory boardings.
This position focuses on vessels operating throughout the NW Coast, including Washington and Oregon, and BC port regions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct onboard vessel inspections, safety reviews, and compliance audits
- Identify deficiencies and work with vessel operators to ensure corrective action
- Help prepare vessels for regulatory inspections, including Port State Control and Coast Guard boardings
- Issue dispensations and monitor resolution timelines when immediate correction is not possible
- Track vessel compliance activities and maintain accurate documentation
- Support ongoing operational compliance across a global fleet
- Former or retired U.S. Coast Guard personnel
- Experience with Port State Control inspections
- Maritime safety, regulatory compliance, or inspection experience
- Strong understanding of international maritime conventions and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Strong inspection, investigative, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving capabilities
