Job Title: INTERNAL ONLY Regional Licensing Supervisor - Social Service Specialist 5 (SSS5).

Location: WA State - Region 3, Region 4, Region 5, and Region 6 counties. This position is full-time, permanent. Travel is a requirement of this position. Travel to and from multiple offices within the community, as well as licensed facilities, within its assigned areas of work, and the incumbent may be required to travel to attend training and meetings in other locations.

Travel involving long distances to respond on-site to facilities throughout, and occasionally outside, the Region may be required.

The Department of Children, Youth, and Families Licensing Division has a great opportunity! We are currently hiring a permanent Regional Licensing Supervisor (SSS5) to join the Foster Care Licensing team. This position will primarily cover Regions 4, 5, and 6 and also provide some coverage in Region 3. The Opportunity:

The Regional Licensing Supervisor provides supervision to a unit of Social and Health Program Consultants/Regional Licensors who provide professional-level licensing services for Child Placing Agencies and their certified foster homes. This includes performing advanced-level specialized case management in high-profile or complex cases involving children or vulnerable adults. This position is the first line supervisor and conducts case reviews, on-the-job training, establishes and maintains procedures for efficient workflow, attends and facilitates meetings and case staffing, and makes final approvals on work product submitted by Regional Licensors.

The incumbent in this position will provide coaching, mentoring, on-the-job training, and assistance in the transition of staff from a formal training program to fieldwork. This position will employ the Planning, Accountability, and Tracking process to ensure subordinate Social and Health Program Consultants meet all casework management directives as required by law, policy, and other mandates, and hold staff accountable for work performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to Social and Health Program Consultant 2s/Regional Licensors.
  • Perform supervisory personnel functions, including setting performance goals, performance evaluation, and scheduling staff.
  • Demonstrate, monitor, train, and mentor SHPC2s/Regional Licensors.
  • Review, prioritize, and assign work to a unit of regional licensing staff.
  • Conduct case staffing, unit meetings, and other meetings as needed.
  • Approve foster and kinship families for licensure.
  • Approve Child Placing Agencies' licenses.
  • Participate effectively in work groups designed to shape agency policy and practice.
  • Perform quality assurance for health and safety monitoring and staff documentation.
  • Review violations of licensing requirements to ensure the health and safety of children, and appropriate corrective action has been taken.
  • Document provider work and monthly reviews in FAMLINK.
  • Process or facilitate the discovery request process.
  • Collaborate with the community, including the provider community, law enforcement, and medical personnel, regarding children in out-of-home placement.
  • Provide backup to the Area Administrator and other Licensing Division Supervisors with related job duties, as needed.
  • Participate in court and administrative hearings.

Required Qualifications:
