About the Role

As an Assistant Project Manager (APM), you’ll help bring Horizon House’s vision for beautiful, comfortable, and modern living spaces to life. You’ll support apartment renovations and special construction projects at Horizon House while partnering closely with Project Managers while coordinating contractors, consultants, and vendors.

In this highly visible role, you’ll be the go‑to connection for staff, residents, and partners, ensuring projects run smoothly from start to finish. From managing daily activities to orchestrating deliveries and keeping everyone informed, you’ll play a hands‑on role in creating spaces our residents love to call home.

What You’ll Do
  • Support Project Managers in driving renovation and construction projects from planning through completion—anticipating challenges, managing risk, and keeping schedules and budgets on track.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, architects, and internal teams to develop scopes of work, collect bids, and ensure smooth execution of apartment renovations and campus improvement projects.
  • Keep stakeholders informed by sharing progress updates, confirming key milestones, and responding diplomatically to staff and resident inquiries.
  • Manage essential project documentation, including contracts, permits, inspections, submittals, as‑builts, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Oversee logistics such as material orders, equipment rentals, and on‑site access to maintain efficient workflows.
  • Provide technical and field support through punch walks, work orders, and permit facilitation.
  • Contribute to departmental improvement by tracking key performance indicators and recommending new tools, methods, or processes that enhance productivity or reduce costs.
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
  • AA degree or equivalent college or trade school or equivalent job experience; construction management certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the construction industry or in a project management role preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products – especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Demonstrated ability to understand project goals within the broader organizational context, such as preparing apartments for successful sales.
  • Assertive, persistent, and results‑driven mindset to ensure successful outcomes - identifying and requesting resources as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Benefits and Perks
  • Highly Competitive Benefits Package with Low Deductibles:
    Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits
  • Paid Time Off and Sick Leave
  • Discounted Costco Membership
  • Discounted Meals
  • 403(b) Retirement & Company Match
  • Company Paid Training & Professional Development Opportunities
  • ORCA Card Discount or Discounted Parking
  • Staff Scholarship Program - up to $24,000 per year including dependents
  • Free Gym and Pool access for employees
