Landscape Superintendent
The Landscape Superintendent is responsible for managing landscape construction projects from start to finish. This role involves coordinating between various teams, overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management:
Oversee the execution of landscape architecture projects, ensuring adherence to design plans and timelines. - Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to align project goals.
- Manage and supervise field crews and subcontractors, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and compliance with design specifications.
- Assist in developing project budgets and schedules.
- Monitor project costs and timelines, adjusting as necessary.
- Ensure all work meets the company’s quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
- Address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project progress and updates.
- Prepare and present reports on project status to management and clients.
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Resolve conflicts or issues that may arise on-site.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape construction or management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of landscaping practices, materials, and construction techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Landscape Contractor License, OSHA certification) are a plus.
- The role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials and operate landscaping equipment safely.
