Opportunity Description
Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor in the Facilities Department.
Salary Range for this position is $73,236 to $96,036 annually (depending on experience).
Opportunity is open until filled; first review of materials will begin January 30, 2026.
Under the supervision of the Capital Projects & Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor (Specialist
5) will be responsible for overseeing campus repair and preventive maintenance. Responsibility includes supervision over trades and leads. Assists in the coordination and direction of total physical plant maintenance activities of Seattle Central College including Broadway Edison building and all co-location buildings and built environments. Develop, implement, and monitor training for all assigned team members. Implement and evaluate workflow priorities.
Develop and disseminate instructions and information to unit personnel.
This position may direct the work of Classified, temporary, Work Study, and Student employees.
This position is typically scheduled to work Monday through Friday 6:00AM to 2:30PM. The schedule may vary depending on program needs. May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.

What You Will Be Working On- Plan installation and repairs; direct trades and leads engaged in maintenance of buildings and utility systems.
- Review daily reports of Maintenance staff and discuss field problems and progress with supervisor
- Interview, recommend hiring, and train Maintenance personnel
- Assist in overseeing craft supervisors in construction and maintenance activities
- Follow up on departmental inquiries and complaints to effect remedial actions and timely project completions
- Collaborate with physical plant management personnel to coordinate engineering functions with construction and maintenance activities
- Balance manpower requirements with manpower availability
- Review, write and schedule work orders and maintenance requests for all crafts and balance personnel requirements with personnel availability
- Assist in building inspections and data collection to determine necessary repairs and project costs, assist in budget preparation for physical plant operations
- Prepare and maintain physical plant operational, property inventory, and space inventory records
- Manage inventory levels to assure adequate supply within budget constraints
- Plan, budget, and schedule anticipated work and equipment to meet a variable workload
- Lead regular employee safety and training meetings
- Enforce safety rules and regulations within the Maintenance team
- Support the completion of Maintenance team employee performance evaluations
- As needed, develop and distribute Maintenance data and narrative reports
- Lead follow up on departmental inquiries and concerns to effect remedial actions and timely project completions
- As needed, conduct surveys, analyze systems and prepare reports on maintenance, construction, planning and estimating, and utility production
- Coordinate use of equipment, materials, and crews to accomplish efficient and early completion of work assignments
