Job SummaryRegion:
Extends from Spokane to Kalispell (and beyond)
Develops, coordinates, and implements occupational safety policies and procedures to ensure effective safety operations and foster a proactive safety culture, principally working with the Coleman Oil Company, LLC family of companies. Collaborates cross-functionally to educate and support operational leaders across Transportation, Tankwagon, Retail, and Propane teams. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations—including Workers’ Compensation, Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). OSHA, and NFPA—as well as industry standards and best practices.
Whatyou’ll be responsible for
- Works collaboratively with the leadership, and employees at all levels to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies and procedures across assigned areas.
- Collaborates with leadership in establishing safety goals and performance metrics.
- Works with Safety team and managers to create and implement safety initiatives and integrate safety considerations into daily operations.
- Creates a proactive safety culture, where speaking up is the norm and hazards are recognized and remedied.
- Familiar with propane operations and understands the risks of propane.
- Performs safety audits, risk assessments, and process reviews of assigned areas at Coleman offices, Coleman bulk plants, Coleman convenience stores, warehouses and terminals.
- Puts a stop to operations and activities that could harm employees, customers, or equipment.
- Ensures new and existing employees receive proper safety training.
- Reviews safety training and documentation, making revisions, improvements, and updates as needed. Recommend straining based on corrective actions, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts employee training on safety culture and applicable safety standards.
- Enter incident information in safety management software program as soon as notified of incident.
- Investigates accidents, incidents, and near-misses using Root Cause Analysis. Documents findings and recommends corrective actions where needed. Ensures all follow-up documentation is completed.
- Creates and submits all internal and external required safety reports, including OSHA 300 Logs.
- Creates safety topics for department safety meetings across Coleman and attends meetings when possible.
