Job Summary

As a Sr. Event Technology Project Manager, you will lead and consult on medium-to-large events, including marquee events with 10,000+ attendees and 200,000 digital attendees. Your responsibilities include project‑managing event registration and attendee‑facing digital platforms, coordinating onsite operations, and ensuring that all work streams—technical architecture, housing management, customer service—are delivered on time, within budget, and to client expectations.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of attendee‑facing event technology projects (registration, content scheduling, session scanning, exhibitor and speaker resource centers, mobile apps, customer service).
  • Serve as the overall Opus project lead on small to mid‑sized events that rely exclusively on event technology and registration services.
  • Represent Opus Event Technology and Registration work streams to clients, acting as the primary point of contact for all related work.
  • Oversee all assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects across event types.
  • Develop, maintain, and drive workback schedules; manage documentation and content for platform/tool builds.
  • Lead complex client and team meetings, including platform demos and technical discussions.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies; elevate critical issues to senior management as appropriate.
  • Deliver projects within time and budgetary requirements; oversee complex onsite deployments such as badge pick‑up, session scanning, and other technology work streams.
  • Lead and contribute to internal trainings and resources; recommend process and resource improvements.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise work of project team members from Event Technology & Registration.
  • Oversee temporary staff deployed onsite at events.
  • Act as event supervisor for employees within the work area.
  • May manage full‑time employee direct reports.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in a relevant role, with strong preference for experience in corporate events using tools such as Rainfocus, Swoogo, Stova, Cvent, Eventbase, and Airtable.
  • Proven experience managing large, high‑touch events from concept to execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year institution is preferred.
  • Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Experience with content management and group housing management preferred.
