Overview
Coordinated Care Agency (CCA), a dba of the Archdiocesan Housing Authority, offers comprehensive services, enhanced shelter, and housing for people experiencing deep poverty and homelessness.
The purpose of our work is to ensure that people have access to the healthcare and supports that they need to thrive. The team works to promote social changes to dismantle systemic racism, injustices and inequities that contribute to housing instability. We approach our clients and colleagues through a trauma informed lens, based on the knowledge and understanding of how trauma affects people's lives.
The Custodian is responsible for cleaning building common areas and units during turnover. They seek to provide tenants with a safe, positive, and sanitary living environment. They complete the day-to-day tasks of client unit turns, work orders, and daily cleaning and sanitizing of common shared spaces.
Custodian positions offer a compensation range of $22.06 – $23.39 per hour (DOE)

Perform routine scheduled cleaning duties: sweep, mop, and wash walls.
Clean bathrooms, food serving area, and other common areas to building standards.
Stock and assist with communicating inventory.
Facilitate, pack, label, and store previous & current client belongings.
Prepare vacant units for occupancy.
Maintain a clean exterior of the building.
Assist building maintenance staff and maintenance vendors as needed.
Remove garbage and recycling from the building following all safe trash removal protocols and wash trash cans.
Regularly lift and carry supplies, donations, furnishing, etc.
Ability to respond to urgent janitorial needs/requests/emergencies
Assist program staff in ensuring occupied units meet Health and Quality standards. As identified, participate in joint clean-up and/or hoarding safety efforts.
Model interpersonal and living skills for clients.
Enforce building and program rules, including bar policy.
Support a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Alert management to non-maintenance concerns.
Observe/follow guidelines on the confidentiality rights of residents and respect their privacy.
Maintain cooperative relationships with businesses in the surrounding neighborhood.

Work in-person at a program and attend required in-person agency meetings.
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to illicit drug residues and fumes, blood borne pathogens or other bio-hazardous materials in the course of doing business. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, building temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, pests, and odors. Other working conditions may include interruptions, working alone, evening or weekend work, responding to emergencies and working on‑call.
This position also requires the employee to work with clients who may have untreated or poorly treated substance use and mental health disorders. These clients may demonstrate challenging behaviors that require staff support for de‑escalation or redirection.
