What You’ll Do:The successful candidate for this position will live in the state of Washington or Oregon. No relocation will be provided for this position.
As the Field Service Technician, you will perform and carry out all tasks related to installing, assembling, servicing, and repairing Aerzen products. They provide customers with prompt, professional and high‑quality service. Work is performed at our location and/or at the customer’s location. Services provided may be scheduled or on‑demand. Overnight travel on short notice is often required.
- Performs startups, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and/or preventive maintenance service on all Aerzen Products at customer sites; represents Aerzen in a professional and courteous manner following all Aerzen and customer safety requirements.
- Installs, configures, calibrates and maintains control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital); installs and terminates electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections; understands controls narratives and analyzes/troubleshoots process application related issues.
- Analyzes and corrects communication issues; properly addresses TCP/IP networks and RS‑485 communications.
- Performs repairs and assembly on Aerzen Products; disassembles; assesses damage and evaluates failures on machines; diagnoses problems with Aerzen machines by evaluating material condition and asking the customer questions; demonstrates ability to offer machine‑based recommendations; can identify root cause of a machine failure; utilizes defined procedures and a standard rebuild kit.
- Reads, understands and uses equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and other process documentation to perform service tasks, assembly and repairs on Aerzen Products.
- Communicates with customers to discuss job requirements, provide recommendations and service options, listens to customer concerns, and provides status updates during service call and at completion.
- Evaluates customer future needs and communicates information through appropriate channels.
- Assists engineering in plant design, modifications and hazard analysis.
- Plans and schedules travel to best meet customer requirements, service schedule requirements and time efficiency utilizing the Concur booking tool.
- Completes job‑related service reports, expense reports and forms in a timely basis; collects data and makes commissioning graphs using Company Software.
- Completes written repair reports to document cause of failure, description of work performed, materials consumed, condition of equipment as received and as returned to the customer.
- Conducts customer training on Aerzen Products when onsite.
- Performs all work in accordance with quality standards, established safety procedures and maintains a clean, safe work area.
- Participates in departmental initiatives such as, but not limited to, inventory counts, shop organization, clean‑up and other duties assigned by the manager.

RequirementsEducation:
An Associates Degree (2 years schooling) in electronics technology or equivalent experience.
Experience:1‑4 years of Field Service Experience with rotary equipment such as compressors, pumps or similar. Must have electrical experience, preferably working with VFDs and controls.
