Location and Schedule

Work Location: King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104

Work Schedule: 40-hour work week, normally Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is eligible for King County’s benefits package.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: Range 44 - $33.73 (step one) - $42.75 (step ten) hourly*

Union Membership: Positions in this classification are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117.

Finalists must successfully submit to a criminal background check, reference check, and be fingerprinted.

  • In addition to the benefits listed on the benefits tab, employees with less than 2 years of service will receive .25 per hour less than the hourly salary table due to a mandatory contribution toward the Teamsters Pension Trust. This contribution is made by the employee and after two years it is paid by the employer.
Job Duties
  • Receive, process and maintain police referrals and follow-up for all non-DV misdemeanor cases.
  • Manage a high volume of misdemeanor casework, including PbK case pre-filing, distribution and declines.
  • Prepare all felony drop downs for filing.
  • Work with Filing DPAs to prepare and create documents for filing with 3 courts (Seattle, Redmond, and Kent).
  • Assist with daily jail calendar docketing/updating PbK.
  • Assist Discovery Paralegal preparing referrals for the daily jail calendar.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Assist Unit Chair, Vice Chair and LSP supervisor as requested.
  • Perform related work or other projects as requested or required.
  • Attend mandatory RESJ trainings.
  • Additional responsibilities and/or tasks may be incorporated, or existing ones modified as business needs evolve.
  • Active participation in PAO equity work, attending equity trainings and discussions.
  • Provide support for the Equity and Social Justice policy and principles and work with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement.
