Location and ScheduleWork Location: King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104
Work Schedule: 40-hour work week, normally Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is eligible for King County’s benefits package.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary: Range 44 - $33.73 (step one) - $42.75 (step ten) hourly*
Union Membership: Positions in this classification are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117.
Application and Selection ProcessApplication Process Interested individuals must complete the three application components:

- Fully complete King County application
- Applications and/or supplemental questionnaires that state “see my resume” or are blank, are considered incomplete and will not be considered competitive.
Selection Process Materials will be reviewed for qualifications, and the most competitive candidates may be invited to participate in a panel interview process. Current PAO employees who are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117 will receive priority consideration.

- In addition to the benefits listed on the benefits tab, employees with less than 2 years of service will receive .25 per hour less than the hourly salary table due to a mandatory contribution toward the Teamsters Pension Trust. This contribution is made by the employee and after two years it is paid by the employer.
- Receive, process and maintain police referrals and follow-up for all non-DV misdemeanor cases.
- Manage a high volume of misdemeanor casework, including PbK case pre-filing, distribution and declines.
- Prepare all felony drop downs for filing.
- Work with Filing DPAs to prepare and create documents for filing with 3 courts (Seattle, Redmond, and Kent).
- Assist with daily jail calendar docketing/updating PbK.
- Assist Discovery Paralegal preparing referrals for the daily jail calendar.
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a timely manner.
- Assist Unit Chair, Vice Chair and LSP supervisor as requested.
- Perform related work or other projects as requested or required.
- Attend mandatory RESJ trainings.
- Additional responsibilities and/or tasks may be incorporated, or existing ones modified as business needs evolve.
- Active participation in PAO equity work, attending equity trainings and discussions.
- Provide support for the Equity and Social Justice policy and principles and work with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
