This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney who is conscientious, resourceful, and motivated to work through complex estate and tax planning matters while serving as a trusted advisor to clients.

This is not a learn-as-you-go role. The firm is seeking an attorney with a strong foundation in estate planning who is eager to continue growing professionally within a collaborative, high-performing team.

The firm is known for delivering white-glove, client-centered legal services with a strong emphasis on relationships, trust, and technical excellence. While experiencing thoughtful, strategic growth, the firm remains deeply committed to a supportive, kind, and drama-free culture where teamwork, humor, and mutual respect are valued. In this role, the Estate Planning & Probate Attorney will work closely with partners, paralegals, and other professionals to deliver high-quality estate planning and probate services to individuals and business owners with sophisticated needs, with opportunities for leadership, client development, and long-term professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel on estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters, including related tax considerations.

  • Guide clients through probate and trust administration processes, including preparing and filing court petitions, inventories, and managing distributions.
  • Represent clients effectively in probate court hearings and related proceedings, as needed.
  • Educate clients on estate planning options related to retirement planning, charitable giving, insurance, and wealth transfer strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with paralegals, senior partners, and other team members to manage workflow, client communications, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to deliver integrated estate and tax planning solutions.
  • Utilize sophisticated estate planning document preparation software (experience with Wealth Counsel is a plus).
  • Stay current on developments in estate planning, probate, trust, and related tax law.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Washington State, in good standing with the Washington State Bar.
  • 3–5+ years of experience providing estate planning, probate, and trust administration services.
  • Strong understanding of estate planning concepts, including tax implications.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in emotionally sensitive or high-stress situations.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload, meet deadlines, and balance legal rigor with practical, business-minded solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional judgment.
  • Proficiency with technology and legal software tools.
  • Naturally curious, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and thoughtful in developing value-added solutions for clients.
  • Dependable, accountable, flexible, and open to professional challenges.
