The Civil Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington is currently seeking an attorney with at least one (1) year of post-J.D. experience. This position is located in Seattle, Washington.
Required Qualifications- J.D. Degree, active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and at least 1 year post-J.D. (or equivalent) legal or other relevant experience (including prior clerkships).
- United States citizenship is required.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify the critical issues in a case; excellent oral and writing skills, strong research skills, and good judgment; ability to communicate and work professionally with other attorneys, support staff, and client agencies; capacity to function with minimal guidance in a highly demanding environment and in the highest ethical manner.
- Ability to perform own legal research and writing and to be substantially self-sufficient in preparing day-to-day correspondence and pleadings.
- Excellent computer literacy including experience with automated research on the Internet, electronic court filing, and electronic e-mail and word processing systems.
- Must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
