A mission-driven law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its Seattle, Washington office. This position provides comprehensive litigation support in state and federal matters, including discovery, filings, trial preparation, and case management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities- Bluebook, cite-check, proofread, and format legal briefs and filings
- Collect, organize, analyze, and produce documents in response to discovery requests
- Maintain centralized repositories of factual and case-related information
- Prepare pleadings, discovery requests, and discovery responses under attorney supervision
- File and e-file pleadings in federal and state courts
- Draft and coordinate service of subpoenas in state and federal courts
- Maintain litigation files, including electronic databases and document management systems
- Provide case management support, including monitoring court calendars, deadlines, and docket activity
- Conduct paper and electronic docket research
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel
- Schedule and prepare for depositions
- Prepare and coordinate court submissions, including binders, tables of contents, and delivery logistics
- Coordinate and support attorney admissions to courts
- Administer and troubleshoot legal software subscriptions and system access
- Assist with hearing and trial preparation, including trial exhibits, courtroom technology, and logistics
- Travel to attend hearings and trials as required
- Work overtime as needed to support litigation demands
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Minimum of three years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm required
- Strong Bluebook and cite-checking skills required
- Trial experience required
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Strong interest or background in politics preferred
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state statutes, court rules, procedures, and trial practice
- Proficiency with Westlaw, PACER, and Microsoft Office required
- Familiarity with document management systems and PDF editing tools preferred
- Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a mission-focused environment
- Willingness and ability to travel for in-state and out-of-state trials
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
- Hybrid work schedule in a professional office environment with an expectation of in-office work three days per week
- Rotating shift schedule based on staffing needs
- Regular use of standard office equipment
- Fast-paced environment requiring effective multitasking
