Overview
The Civil Division is soliciting applications for a Paralegal I in the Contracts Section. The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of support tasks that require initiative and independent judgment, the ability to anticipate needs, and to respond appropriately. Candidates must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently, strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of clients and County staff, analytical and critical thinking skills to make decisions and initiate action, time management skills to handle multiple tasks within often short deadlines, and the ability to handle emergency situations and work under pressure.
Experience supporting a civil law practice is required.
The Contracts Section provides legal advice to County departments on procurement and administration of contracts for goods, services, information technology products, and the construction and design of public works. The Section also provides general legal advice on a variety of topics to the King County Superior and District Courts, King County Elections, the Superior Court Clerk’s Office, the King County Auditor’s Office, the Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget (PSB), and the Treasurer’s Office.

SalarySalary: Range 49, $37.97 (step one) – $48.13 (step ten).
Work ScheduleWork Schedule: Monday – Friday, core hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees assigned to this position enjoy a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 2 in-office days per week, subject to business needs and a telecommuting agreement. If a new hire is joining the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, they will be required to work in office four days a week for the first six months of employment.
